A huge product in our business is a 4 hour Vanuatu Fishing Charter. A lot of these are shared charters and some solo’s. The biggest difficulty is getting peoples expectations in line with reality. Four hours is not a long time to go game fishing and sometimes guests want to do some reef fishing as well so that leaves even less time to catch a marlin or a fish of a lifetime for that matter. Every now and then someone will do a four hour fishing charter and have a blinder and this was the case with Ed. Ed wasn’t sure about even doing a charter then his wife said he was mad not to, “your in Vanuatu, why not go out and have a go”

Ed decided to book a 4 hour charter. Conditions were dead calm so we headed south toward the Pango F.A.D. We had a marlin bite on the way out but it didn’t hook up. We were at the F.A.D and were clearing the gear to do some jigging and a blue marlin kame screaming in and ate the shotgun lure only meters from the boat. With a bit of free spooling and then on with the drag the fish was on. As Ed started fighting the fish a second one was jumping around a little further out.Ed soone had the fish to the boat for a release. We started heading back home and at about the half way mark another 2 blue marlin jumped on. This time we lost one, a fairly big one at that and Ed soon had the smaller one to the boat. We ended up seeing 5 had 3 on and caught 2. Not a bad 4 hour charter however it doesn’t happen all the time.
