Brad has just done his third trip fishing in Vanuatu

Brad and Darleen have just visited the shores of Vanuatu again, this time bringing more of their family  enjoy the beauty of the tropics.

Brad love to squeeze in a day fishing whenever he visits and this trip he brought his dad to try and get him into a good sized fish. Unfortunate Pete, Brads dad developed a Vanuatu belly and missed the day out.

Brad has caught quite a few mahi-mahi and wahoo so we had him out for a shot at a marlin. The closes we got was seeing one hit the lure of another charter boat fishing nearby.

Not all was lost as Brad nailed a couple of good mahi-mahi for the day and he had never been reef fishing here so we swung in behind Hat Island for a break from trolling and picked up a couple of beautiesGame Fishing Vanuatu.

Accommodation Photos Coming Soon.

o

Juboes Bungalows are basic island style bungalows however clean and comfortable. The bungalows are located inside Undine Bay providing a comfortable mooring on the southern side of Nguna Island at the base of a redundant volcano. The people are very friendly and the local experience is fantastic. This is about a third of the distance of Epi for those that have done that trip,

The trip listed below is just a suggestion. We are very fluid on how these trips unfold so just tell us what you would like to do and we will tailor is for you. This trip also make a great overnighter.

Day 1:

Leave Nautilus (orange dot on chart below) and fish our way past a couple of the F.A.D’s (Fish Aggregating Device) Today we will be hunting for yellowfin, marlin, wahoo, mahi-mahi and lots of other species. We can do some jigging at the F.A.D’s and run some bait’s if you are keen and the weather allows. You might want to spend more time out wide fishing the marlin highway. If we have time we can have a shot for a dogtooth at Nguna Island then make our way up Undine Bay to our accommodation stay at Juboes Bungalows. (red dot on chart)

Any of you other days can be as listed below:

Day 2:

We head out of the bay and troll up towards Cooks Reef fishing for pelagic’s (wahoo, marlin, mahi-mahi etc). The day is then spent fishing Cooks Reef with jigs, poppers, baits (dead, live and plastic) for reef fish, doggies and G,T’s (yellow dot) then troll home again to accommodation.

Day 3:

We head out of the bay and troll up towards Mataso Island fishing for pelagic’s (wahoo, marlin, tuna, mahi-mahi etc). Fish Mataso and Monument Rock drop-off’s with jigs, poppers, baits (dead, live and plastic) for doggies and wahoo for the day (green dot) then troll home again to accommodation. This can include Mataso Sea-Mound which is just West of Mataso Island. (light blue dot)

Day 4:

We head out east towards Emao Island via Undine Bay and on tow lures to fish Scott Rock with jigs and baits (dead, live or soft) for big doggies and G.T’s and wahoo (blue dot) If the conditions are right we will head further on to a sea-mound to the north east for some great yellow fin action on the surface and some doggies down deep then home to our accommodation.

Day 5:

We head west down Undine Bay looking for sail fish and wahoo and towards Nguna Island to fish Nguna Reef (purple dot) with jigs & baits, (dead, live or soft) for doggies, g.t’s and lots of other toothy critters. Just before lunch we begin to point out nose toward home, Nautilus which is about 1/2 a day back if we are to fish out onto the Marlin Highway and past a couple of F.A.D’s.

These days can vary due to weather, angler’s choice and skipper’s discretion.
